Aujourd'hui, la New Japan organisait un show spécial, intitulé Wrestling Hinokuni. Dans le main-event, Tomohiro Ishii défendait son titre openweight NEVER face à Togi Makabe.
Makabe a remporté le titre NEVER, titre qu'il n'avait pas pu défendre en raison d'une maladie il y a quelques mois. Ishii en avait profité pour battre Tomoaki Honma et gagner le titre.
